No matter how many guidelines exist, there will always be times when CPA members encounter ethical issues and dilemmas. A confidential ethics counselling service is available to members of CPA, free of charge, through the St James Ethics Centre.
Ethi-call is the St James Ethics Centre's free telephone counselling service. If you are facing an ethical dilemma at home or at work, one that seems to have no right or wrong answer, there is someone you can talk to. St James Ethics Centre counsellors have broad experience in a variety of fields and provide their time as volunteers. They will help you explore your dilemma and reach a solution aligned with your circumstances, principles and values.
The service
The sessions last up to one hour and are as confidential and anonymous as you want them to be. You don’t have to give your real name or the name of any organisation involved. St James Ethics Centre is non-religious and apolitical, so it offers a truly non-judgemental space for you to explore all aspects of your dilemma from an ethical perspective and find a way forward. You can opt for a telephone counselling session, or attend the Sydney office in person. Sessions run from Monday to Friday between 9.00 am and 5.00 pm.
Call 1800 672 303 to find out more or to make an appointment, or visit the St James Ethics Centre website.
